Jokosher on Gentoo
Gentoo is all about choice. Until Jokosher 1.0 is released and Jokosher is in the main portage tree, there are three ways to install Jokosher 0.2.
Install via Gentoo Sunrise - this is the newer and recommended version.
Create your own local overlay - this original version that still works well.
Install via Subversion - this is particularly useful if you want to help test and develop Jokosher and do not mind ignoring portage. Install the dependencies via one of the methods above and then see The Subversion instructions.
We are assuming that you have read the Gentoo handbook, especially the later sections on portage. If you have not read the Gentoo handbook (i.e. someone else installed Gentoo for you) then you should not be installing experimental pre-release software such as Jokosher. Go and read it then come back. You need to know how to use Portage and if you are running stable then you will need to know how to unmask packages when portage moans that it does not have some package or other.
