Ok, this is the finished work section, so why not tell us what you have recorded in Jokosher.
Myself, I am trying to record a jingle for LUG Radio, featuring live recorded guitars and vocals, not samples. The drum track was created in the open source drum machine software Hydrogen and exported as a wav, then imported into Jokosher.
So far I am stumbling on some Gstreamer and Jokosher bugs, but I hope to make a new thread in this forum when I can get going with the real recording part.
While you wait for this amazing story of the anatomy of my Jokosher recording experience, why not tell us what you have recorded and how in Jokosher. Tell us how you got on, what felt good and what didn't work so well for you.
It's the feedback you provide thats helps steer the way the Jokosher interface is designed and the feature set refined.
Let us know! |

I know drinky knows about this, but these bugs have fixed in GStreamer CVS. |

Thursday was Thanksgiving day in the US which is an important holiday. For me that means driving 2 hours (each way) to my Dad's place.
My wife asked me to grab some listening material for the trip, so I picked some MP3s and burned them to CD. Minutes before we left she changed her mind and decided I should drive. My MP3-capable portable CD player doesn't work in my car, so panic set in.
Every time I try to convert MP3s to WAV and burn them to CD it's just a pain. I start by pulling the files up in Audacity, normalizing, then dumping to WAV format. I've got a script that uses cdrecord to burn WAVs to CD, but it usually complains that the WAV output from Audacity is invalid and bails. I try again using lame to convert MP3 to WAV, but without spending half an hour reading the man page and using a bunch of command line switches, I can't get it to work. It shouldn't be this hard!
This time I just tried Jokosher because I didn't have time to mess with anything else. I imported the files one by one (they were podcasts with really poor sound quality), used the 'Simple amplifier' and 'Declipper' LADSPA plugins to fix the sound quality, then mixed down to WAV. I burned the WAVs to CD with my cdrecord script (which worked this time), and walked out the door.
Sound quality on the CD was just fine. I solved a real world problem with Jokosher in just a few minutes with very little fuss. I realize this isn't a typical Jokosher use case, but in this particular instance it DID WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO and SAVED MY ASS!
Just had to share. |

I record Drum'n'Bass mixtapes in jokosher. Although I'm no power user (I only use one 'instrument'), I'm quite pleased with its capabilities. It's easy to use, looks sexy and its developers rock around the clock.
I record using Denon X100 mixer and two Technics SL1210 MK2 and I'm sure I'll upload a good tape soon, so you can hear what I do in the evenings. |

Would love to hear what you have produced Daniel - go on, stick something online so we can hear it - it could be the first audio posted here produced in Jokosher. |
