I got the failed configure of gstreamer earlier. My error said it was because I didn't have automake installed. I updated automake from 1.4 to 1.9, and then the script finished fine. Perhaps it's the same for you? Did you check to see if it gave a reason for the failed configuration?

I love the download script! It is an excellent intermediate step between having to download and build everything from source yourself and having a package. I'm very impressed with the Jokosher effort... keep up the good work!

[...] I’ve decided to modify my podcast list. I decided to delete TWIT and diggnation and added Source trunk. IMHO TWIT and diggnation have become progressively worse as of late. Perhaps those guys are a little burned out and over stretched. Regardless, I’m moving on. I decided to install Ubuntu Edgy on my x86 test box and I have to say it looks great. Nice, clean and very responsive. Unfortunately upgraders had a multitude of issues that have been widely reported since the release. I noticed that Jokosher just released version 2.0. The new version hasn’t made it into the Ubuntu repositories so I will be trying their installer script in the next couple days. The most noticeable new feature is multi-track recording on multiple input high end audio cards. I’m very curious to see how it works with my M-Audio Delta 44 card. I will report back on this. And finally Happy Thanksgiving to all! [...]

Sorry for hogging the comments, but I managed to get cvs access by running the install script through tsocks ( "tsocks ./Jokosher0.2runscript" ) after following this guide:

Hope it helps others in my situation.

Oh my... my ISPs firewall is blocking cvs.
Is there any chance of a release that doesn't require cvs? Possibly a gstreamer-cvs download?
